This piece to me, was an attempt to convey the realization that....the only person judging the value my accomplishments by time was myself. We all “know” we need to be doing something, most of us feel this strong sense of urgency to create progression in our lives/careers. However, we’re spoon fed the age old American lie- we need to go to school, get a degree, get a good job, buy a house with a white picket fence, etc...

A lot of the newer generation is understanding that this is not only unfeasible in today’s political climate for someone in their early to mid twenties, but also undesirable. This expectation creates a lot of unnecessary tension and pressure and injects it into our lives, decisions, and feelings as if they were holding us hostage.

Hell, even at 22 years old I sometimes feel like I’ve barely accomplished what my parents had done career-wise when they were my age. So, I took these feelings and created this- to pose a message to others my age, younger and older, that things happen at different times for everyone. Free yourself from this time limit we’ve placed on ourselves to accomplish our goals and dreams, and liberate yourself to incubate toward reaching your highest potential.
