The First Solo Exhibition.

On April 22nd, Jewish art will reclaim the ghetto- with a unique first time solo exhibition, titled "Visions of the Present", in the historic Rumbach synagogue of Budapest's historic Jewish ghetto on April 22nd.

Ethos of the Exhibition

“Visions of the Present” An extraordinary upcoming solo exhibition by Jewish artist Alex Woz, for the first time showing in Budapest. “Visions of the Present” is a Jewish art exhibition that seeks to reclaim Jewish ghettoes as not only places of a past destruction, but places where modern Jewish arts and culture can reclaim their heritage and cultural zeitgeist in a contemporary context.

Through working with gold ink and photography of Jewish communities around the world, the artist seeks to explore the quintessential question regarding Jewish intergenerational trauma: “How can I be traumatized by something I’ve never experienced before?”

Through commanding the space through meticulously coordinated art, Alex will take the viewer on a journey to flattten the Jewish past, present, and future into one liminal space.

Join us on April 22nd for the exhibition opening, meet the artist, view an exclusive documentary about the artist’s creative process here in the old Jewish ghetto. Showing until September 2025.
